PDO Mono Threads

PDO Threads are made of soluble PDO (polydioxanone), a material used in medicine for many years, mainly in surgery. PDO threads are also used in cardiovascular surgery since their entry strengthens the tissues and is a natural collagen stimulant. Ultimately, this is the reason that makes them so useful for the lifting effect: collagen is the main element for having a fresh, voluminous and toned skin. PDO relaxes muscles and tendons while stimulating the production of new collagen in the skin. PDO also stimulates the production of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, vital for creating youthful looking skin. PDO Threads are effective in facial lifting and wrinkle removal through self-stimulation of cells.

The trophic action on the tissues is essentially carried out through two mechanisms:

1) Biostimulation: the action of the threads determines a good toning effect, through an increase in metabolism and a trophic effect stimulated on the microcirculation, with an improvement in skin brightness.

2) Mechanical stimulation: it is a soft-lift action. In fact, the mechanical input, applied to a body, determines effects that vary according to the quality and quantity of the inserted wires.

A typical treatment involves placement of the desired number of threads to treat face and neck. The threads are introduced with a needle, which is removed once the threads have been positioned. Recovery from a thread lift is quite easy. Thread lifts can be performed under local, rather than general anaesthesia, meaning that thread lift patients can drive themselves home and look after themselves immediately after having their procedure. While some patients will experience a little bit of soreness, redness and swelling after having a thread lift and therefore wish to take the rest of the day off, most can return to work immediately. Strong pain medication is seldom needed after having a thread lift, making it easier for patients to return to their normal routine. This procedure is therefore ideal for people who have children at home or those who have busy, demanding careers.

While thread lift recovery is not particularly intensive, patients will still have to take a few minor precautions while healing. It's important to make sure that you don't rub your face vigorously while cleansing it or applying moisturizer for at least a week after having threads placed.

Thread lifts are low risk, thanks to how minimal invasive they are. There is virtually no risk of scarring, severe bruising, bleeding or other complications after having a thread lift. In rare cases, patients may experience irritation, infection or their sutures becoming visible under their skin. If this occurs, however, the sutures can simply be removed and the patient's face will return to its prior state.

PDO Threads remain in place for about four to six months, after which point they slowly dissolve. Postoperative care:

Swelling and bruising can appear after the procedure, which can be prevented with the help of ice pack. Touching and tapping the areas which have undergone the treatment for at least a week is restricted.
