PDO Threads Face Lift

The years pass and over time the skin tends to drop following the force of gravity, due to the loss of tone. In fact, with aging, the connective tissue of the face becomes thinner, and the skin fibres lose their structural strength and elasticity. The lack of elasticity leads to a progressive sagging of the facial contours and the appearance of wrinkles. Face, neck, décolleté, begin to show small unsightly wrinkles which, however, do not necessarily need surgery. So, how to do it? In aesthetic medicine, special threads can be used to achieve a non-surgical facelift.

What Cogs Threads Are?

These types of threads are a special version of a resorbable material called PoliDioxanOne (PDO), equipped with "spikes" for anchoring.

These threads have a double lifting effect, the first thanks to the spikes, which anchor the tissues by pulling them towards the opposite directions to the force of gravity, and secondly the stimulus to the collagen that they induce in the area where they are inserted, and which plumps the skin.

Neocollagenesis is a natural process that the body triggers in the presence of a foreign body: the thread is recognized as an "intruder" and is covered with new tissue, stimulating the constant production of cells, collagen and other substances that naturally make the skin firmer and smoother.

The effect therefore remains even once the thread is reabsorbed.

The treatment has no particular contraindications and is indicated for anyone with little time and an initial sagging of the skin. It is also an excellent solution for those who, after a traditional facelift, need a touch up.

How Does The Lifting With The Barbed Threads Work?

First of all, there are two types of barbed threads: the unidirectional ones, with pins all positioned in the same direction, and the bidirectional (or even multidirectional) ones, with the pins that change direction at a certain height, allowing greater traction.

This allows us to choose the type of thread indicated based on the ptosis, i.e. the degree of

In addition, there are also two different insertion techniques, which allow even greater traction control based on the results to be obtained and the type of skin relaxation that the patient presents. In the first case, the thread has only one point for entry and exit, in the second case, however, the thread is inserted in one point and made to come out in another point, according to a specific gravitational vector.

The anaesthesia is local and the duration of the treatment is very short, as are the recovery times.

Benefits

The very first advantage of the so-called "lunch break lifting" is time: this mini lifting can take from half an hour to an hour depending on the number of threads needed and the areas to be treated.

It does not require anesthesia or an operating room, characteristics that affect the reduction of treatment costs.

The costs are certainly lower than those of a traditional facelift, or a facelift with non-absorbable suspension threads.

Another important element is the fast recovery time. This in fact leads many people with little free time to prefer this treatment: bruises and swelling are minimal, sometimes invisible and resolvable in a few days; no support materials are needed in the days following the surgery and the only precaution to take is not sleeping on the threads right away.

During the first few days, those with very thin skin may notice ripples in the areas where the threads are inserted, which will resolve in a few days.
