Carboxytherapy is a new treatment here in Norway and Cryoklinikken is proud to be able to

offer this treatment as one of only 4 clinics in the country and the only one in western

Norway.

It is described as the biggest thing within the esthetic medicine since the discovery of botox.

Carboxytherapy is being used to treat stretch marks, cellulitis, dark under eye circles,

patterned hair loss, alopecia, removal of local fat deposits and skin laxity and revitalization of

both the face and body.

Carboxytherapy originates from ‘The Royal Spa’ in Ryot, France back in 1932, where

patients were treated in carbon dioxide rich baths which resulted in increased blood

circulation, new formation of blood vessels and thus an improved wound healing.

In South America (especially Brazil) and Europe the carboxytherapy has been used in

aesthetic treatments of cellulitis, stretch marks and hypertrophic scars with excellent results.

Research has shown that carboxytherapy improves the skin’s elasticity, improves

microcirculation, strengthens the repair and new formation of collagen, improves fine lines

and wrinkles, tightens skin laxity and destroys localized fat deposits - i.e. above the knees,

chin, back, etc).

Carbon dioxide is a natural, permanent part of our body and in nature. We inhale O2 and

exhale CO2. Plants use the CO2 in their photosynthesis and release O2 which we need.

There are no known risk factors connected to the carboxytherapy treatment which involves

small injections of medical carbon dioxide. By injecting small dosages of CO2 right under the

skins’ surface the body interprets it as a lack of oxygen and blood is rushed to the treated

area, blood circulation is improved. Dark under eye circles, hair loss, cellulitis and stretch

marks have all been shown to be partly caused by poor blood circulation.

The treatment at Cryoklinikken is performed using the latest technology in Carboxytherapy

and is a safe treatment without any down time. The CO2 gas is injected with the smallest

needles on the market and is barely noticeable.

The Bellezza Clinic London offers a wide range of anti-aging treatments and also uses

Carboxytherapy to treat a number of aesthetic and therapeutic purposes. They have kindly

let me use some of their before/after photos of cellulite treatment.
